Distance Learning
LEI is working on a system of “distance learning” for providing environmental education to a wide audience. Educational materials no longer need to be published in paper for widespread use. LEI is developing learning materials on a variety of environmental issues and will publish them on the internet. These environmental education materials will also be translated into several languages so that a wider audience can be reached. LEI’s membership contains professionals with backgrounds in environmental education and use of internet software. The LEI membership will use their skills on developing the materials for publication on the internet. The skills of LEI members cover the educational and technical aspects needed to publish materials on environmental issues in a format readable by Web browsing software. Several LEI members contain foreign language skills needed to translate these educational materials into forms readable by a wide audience.
We are currently developing a distance learning program for The Ecology Vocational College in Moldova for use by students in the Former Soviet Republics.
